David is a 24-year veteran of the orthopedic medical device industry with executive-level experience in marketing, marketing communications, sales, corporate development and research & development in companies ranging from focused start-ups such as SITES Medical to larger, diversified global companies such as Tornier and Zimmer. His most recent position in the orthopedic industry was Vice President, Advanced Technologies Division at Tornier where he led global marketing and R&D efforts for emerging technologies. He has first-hand experience across the full range of market segments: adult reconstructive, upper extremity, lower extremity, spine, trauma, sports medicine, dental, biologics, computer-assisted surgery and ancillary surgical products (eg. surgical power tools, braces and supports, blood management equipment). Throughout David’s career, he consistently brought value to his organizations by identifying and validating market opportunities, working with internal or external teams to refine product designs, and developing effective marketing programs to hit revenue growth targets and build brands. He continues this work today as an independent marketing and business development consultant, dedicated to musculoskeletal start-ups from around the world. David’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering Physics from Queen’s University in Canada and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of London/London Business School.
